To what extent has the credit crunch simply sped up the natural development of the music industry

The industry has developed form CD’s to just downloading the music online. This is an easier way of doing it and it ends up being more cheaper than buying a CD. When downloading music you can either d it for free using different websites and convertors or people use iTunes buy the music and it is downloaded straight onto the phone.

This has a bad impact on the industry as shops are going to have fewer sales on CD’s due to the amount of music being downloaded. Shops like Zavvi have been closed down from the lack of money being earn’t due to the lack of sales. HMV is also a very well known shop that sells Cd’s, DVD’s and Games etc. However they are also still losing sales on CD’s as they aren’t very popular anymore, different things have been created to replace them.

To play music in the car you can plug your phone into the Car’s CD player, you can also plug an iPod/ mp3 or mobile phone into speakers/dock.
