How useful are the UK record sales and charts and do you
believe they have a future?
I believe that the charts do have a future, as they are very
popular. You can even listen to the charts on the radios online or watch them
on TV. The charts provide music videos, which provides more entertainment for
the viewer. I personally enjoy watching the c harts as I am able to stay up to
date with which songs are popular and like to what the music videos as they can
be quite funny.
Some chart shows like ‘top of the pops’ was a popular chat
show until it ended in 2006, this was most likely because of the lack of
viewers that they received/. There are now bigger and popular chart shows for
example ‘MTV’ that hosts a Top 40 UK, everyday.
The charts is important to the audience as it gives them chance
to know the newer and popular songs. It also helps people that don’t have a preferred
choice in a certain genre of music.
